Paying tribute to our especially wet winter, OverAttired is happy to present one of the best (if not The Best) song & dance movies of all time.
Come debate Sam’s heretical view that Donald O’Connor (Cosmo) is a better dancer (in this film) than his co-star Gene Kelly (Don)!
Released in 1951, this film is poised at the very beginning of the transition from loud 40s clothes (including some suits Sam would kill for) to the 50s.
Singin’ is also one of the first in Hollywood’s Golden Age of Musicals through the 50s.
We’re happy to give free reign to laugh at how Hollywood in the 1950s viewed the fashions of the 1920s.
Come see how great Hail Cesar could’ve been!
If you haven’t seen Singin’ in the Rain, I can’t think of a better introduction than seeing it in a room full of vintage/song/dance nerds – surely as the creators intended!
Our movie events are Free (donations accepted), and we’ll provide the popcorn!
Afterwards we’ll debate the best outfits (or all agree on the stage outfits for Fit as a Fiddle)and the best dance numbers (or all agree on Moses Supposes)!
Before the movie, we’ll provide Previews of our upcoming movie nights.
Date: April 1st, 2016. No fooling!
