1940s "Varsity Town" Wool Suit | Vintage 40s Tan Tweed Micro Houndstooth Jacket & Trousers Two Pieces w/Braces Buttons | Size 40 Medium

You'll look as sharp as a tack when you walk in wearing this dashing micro houndstooth 40s suit from "Varsity Town." It's constructed of a high quality wool tweed with a houndstooth pattern in tan and dark espresso brown and upon closer inspection double pinstripes of yellow and quadruple pinstripes of green appear! The trousers feature front knife pleats, two front slash pockets and two back pockets one with wallet button. There are buttons on the inside of the waistband for attaching braces and there is a metal fly zipper with metal snap for closure. The waist band and pockets are lined in cotton. The butterfly lined single vented jacket has two welted front pockets, one slanted chest pocket, a standard inner pocket and a cigar pocket. There is a label sewn to larger inner pocket from "Varsity Town Clothes, Idaho Department Store", with a faded 1939-1949 Union Label dating this suit to the 1940s. This suit is in great vintage condition, with a couple very small & subtle period mends and no holes, stains, odors to note.
